Interesting column today over at 411, comparing the commercialization of wrestling and of stock car racing. It really reminded me of what _gerald always says about WCW alienating its core fanbase. I'm also a little concerned about NWA-TNA's new show--from what I've heard, their regular shows have a real community feel in the audience, and it'd be a shame to lose that because of the new show being produced at Universal Studios Florida. We'll see if Impact causes their other stuff to change.
Speaking of TNA, I'm actually kind of stoked about Impact. I've heard a lot of good things about guys like A. J. Styles and Christopher Daniels, and I'll finally be able to see them in action. Plus it'll be nice to see some competition again between promotions. I'll be taping it for my friend Joe, who'll be working at the time (that 3 PM time slot is pretty horrible).
I still think Elix Skipper is a stupid-sounding name for a wrestler.
