Do you like scary movies?
I watched Nosferatu (the F. W. Murnau silent original, not the 1979 Werner Herzog remake). Man, that is one creepy movie. I especially like the soundtrack done by Art Zoyd (as a silent, Nosferatu has no original score; the DVD I have has two soundtrack options)—very atmospheric. I actually have the score on CD, too (I got it before I'd seen it with the movie).

What are your favorite eerie movies?

I like Nosferatu also, and have seen it many times... I am lucky to live in a town that sometimes shows it with live music accompanying it, yay! Every Halloween the silent Phantom of the Opera with Lon Chaney Jr is shown with live pipe organ accompaniment too.

In terms of more modern movies, I usually tend to avoid movies that I think will be extremely scary, because I'm easily scared by movies and end up being bugged by them for days... but if it's a really good movie that just happens to be scary, I'll be more inclined to check it out. The Ring really spooked me for days afterward, but it impressed me. Less scary, but nonetheless eerie and good, was Sixth Sense. But I'd say my favorite recent scary movie was 28 Days Later, which I really loved.

Live music for Nosferatu? Cool!

I think some of my favorite eerie movies are The Ring, The Exorcist, Night of the Living Dead, Halloween, The Thing, and The Wicker Man, all for different reasons which I'm too lazy to write up now.
